Overcoming Adversity: A Tribute to My Mother’s Dream
We are thrilled to celebrate our very own Patricia Nyathi, a valued member and HR of the Trademore Group, who has successfully earned her Bachelor of Commerce Honours in Human Resources Management! Below is her story:
“At just 16 years old, I experienced a devastating loss that would change my life forever – the brutal passing of my beloved mother. Her tragic death left an unfillable void, but it also ignited a burning determination within me. I knew I had to pursue my education, not just for myself, but to fulfill my mother’s cherished dream of seeing me graduate.
With unwavering resolve, I embarked on my academic journey, starting with a Bachelor of Commerce degree in Human Resource Management. The path wasn’t easy; it took perseverance and resilience to overcome the obstacles. Four years ago, when I began this journey, I couldn’t have imagined the triumphs that lay ahead.
Initially, my passion was to study social work, driven by a desire to help others. However, as I gained experience in an office environment, I discovered that Human Resources offered a unique opportunity to make a positive impact within the corporate world – essentially, being a corporate social worker.
Today, I proudly hold an Honours degree, achieved in just one year. This accomplishment would not have been possible without the unwavering support and belief in me from my employer, Kim, and the entire Trademore Group team. Their encouragement and guidance played a significant role in my success.
As I reflect on my journey, I pay tribute to my mother’s enduring legacy. Her dream has become my reality, and I hope my story inspires others to pursue their passions, no matter the challenges they face.
